These Terms of Use govern your use of the Tanlie mobile application ("Tanlie", "the App", "Service", "we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using Tanlie, you agree to these Terms.

This document was adapted from a similar sun-tracking product provided by Brilliant Apps.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the app.

Use of the App

Tanlie is designed to provide UV tracking, tanning guidance, skin insights, weather-based recommendations, and related wellness features.

You may not:

  • Copy or reproduce the app or any part of it
  • Modify or create derivative versions of the app
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code
  • Use our trademarks or branding without permission
  • Use the app in any unlawful or harmful manner

All intellectual property rights related to Tanlie, including trademarks, graphics, designs, software, and content, remain the property of Tanlie and its licensors.

Subscription & Premium Features

Some features within Tanlie may require a paid subscription, including but not limited to:

  • AI Skin Analysis
  • Personalized tanning plans
  • Advanced UV tracking
  • Historical tanning insights
  • Premium widgets and alerts
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Payments are charged through your Apple ID account.
  • You may manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
  • Free trials, if offered, automatically convert into paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial period ends.

Disclaimer & Important Health Notice

  • Tanlie provides general wellness and informational guidance only.
  • The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or professional healthcare recommendations.

UV recommendations, tanning guidance, and skin insights are estimates only and may not account for all factors affecting sun exposure, including:

  • Individual skin conditions
  • Medications
  • Environmental conditions
  • Genetics
  • Health history
  • Sunscreen effectiveness

Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding skin health or medical concerns.

Excessive UV exposure may increase the risk of:

  • Sunburn
  • Skin damage
  • Premature skin aging
  • Skin cancer

User Responsibility

By using Tanlie, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your sun exposure decisions and skin protection practices.

You are responsible for:

  • Monitoring your skin's reaction to UV exposure
  • Applying sunscreen appropriately
  • Seeking shade when necessary
  • Following safe tanning habits
  • Limiting sun exposure based on your personal sensitivity

Tanlie cannot guarantee prevention of sunburn or skin damage.

AI Skin Analysis

  • Tanlie may offer optional AI-powered skin analysis features.

When using this feature:

  • You may provide a selfie image for analysis
  • Images are processed only to generate skin-related insights
  • Tanlie does not use facial recognition or identity verification
  • Images are not sold or used for advertising purposes

By using AI Skin Analysis, you consent to secure third-party AI processing, including providers such as OpenAI, solely for generating requested analysis results.

No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tanlie and its developers are not liable for any:

  • Sunburn
  • Skin irritation
  • Allergic reactions
  • Health complications
  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Losses resulting from reliance on app recommendations

Your use of the app is entirely at your own risk.

Third-Party Services

Certain features of the app may rely on third-party services, including:

  • Weather providers
  • UV data providers
  • Analytics services
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • AI processing providers
  • Apple subscription systems

We are not responsible for outages, inaccuracies, or failures caused by third-party services.

Internet & Device Requirements

Some features require:

  • An internet connection
  • GPS/location access
  • Updated iOS software
  • Compatible hardware

You are responsible for any mobile data charges or roaming fees incurred while using the app.

Updates & Availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue Tanlie at any time without prior notice.

We do not guarantee that the app will always:

  • Remain available
  • Be error-free
  • Support all iOS versions
  • Function without interruption

You agree to install app updates when available.

Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.

We recommend avoiding jailbroken or rooted devices, as they may compromise app functionality and security.

Data Sharing with Apple

If you make in-app purchases, certain usage information related to purchased content may be shared with Apple to assist with refund requests and subscription management, in accordance with Apple policies.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app if these Terms are violated.

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the app ends immediately
  • You must stop using the app
  • You may delete the app from your device

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

Updated versions will be posted within the app or on our website. Continued use of Tanlie after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
